Western Visayas showcases Guimaras mangoes, delicacies at the 4th Luzon Mango Congress in Batangas City

Western Visayas participated in the 4th Luzon Mango Congress held at South Peak Garden and Events Place in Batangas City on June 20-21. The region presented its famous sweet fresh mangoes and a variety of delectable mango delicacies from Guimaras Island, emphasizing the superior quality and taste that have earned these mangoes national acclaim. This two-day event offered Western Visayas a venue to promote its mango industry and establish connections with other regions.
Representing Western Visayas were three exhibitors from Guimaras Island. The Guimaras Mango Growers brought 100 kilos of fresh mangoes, captivating attendees with their renowned sweetness and freshness. McNester Food Products showcased assorted mango-based goodies, from dried mangoes to mango wine, catsup and puree among others, delighting the crowd with their variety. Meanwhile, Parolas Food Products displayed an array of tasty mango products, each one a proof to the rich flavors and superior quality of Guimaras mangoes. For this two-day event, these exhibitors achieved total sales of P47,145.00, showing the high demand and appreciation for their products.
Participants from various regions engaged in discussions aimed at improving mango production and marketing. A notable highlight of the event was the ceremonial turnover of the key of responsibility. Region IV-A (CALABARZON), the host of this year’s event, passed the key to Region II, naming the province of Isabela as the next host for the 5th Luzon Mango Congress.
Stakeholders and local entrepreneurs from Western Visayas had the opportunity to network with industry experts and potential business partners, paving the way for future collaborations and market expansion. The event underscored the region’s dedication to maintaining its reputation for producing some of the finest mangoes in the Philippines.
The opening ceremony was attended by notable figures including Senator Imee Marcos and Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) and High Value Crops National Director Gerald Glenn Panganiban, who showed their support for the country’s mango industry. Their presence highlighted the vital role of the mango sector in the national economy and agricultural community.
