Pagbibigay pugay sa YFC national awardees ng DA-WV

“Mga kwento ng tagumpay na hindi mananatiling kwento lamang, ito ay binigyan katuparan ng ahensiya para sa tagumpay ng mga batang magsasaka. The Department of Agriculture, Western Visayas would like to see you climb the ladder of success and the challenge is how to influence others by staying humble and let your accomplishment speak for itself”. Director Dennis Arpia said during the YFC national awardees Fellowship and Appreciation, June 11, 2024.

Western Visayas secured three national winners for the 2023 National search of the Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) – Clawseth Aquafarm of Pontevedra, Capiz led by Seth Luigi Borbon, EcoGrow Agritek from Hamtic, Antique headed by Harry Luces and Cilfred Ramos and HealthyBite from Jordan, Guimaras led by Reynro Herrera.

These young farmers of region6 were awarded with certificates, tokens and cash prizes that would encourage them to keep the business grow and keep the ball rolling.

The challenge is to keep the pressure high to compete and succeed. Maria Teresa Solis DA- Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) chief explains. “ You will be the next generation of farmers in our country, we need your support because the DA is only enablers and support system, the main actors in food production are our farmers and we have high expectations from you to provide food on the table of every Filipino.”

The tribute for the YFC national awardees is an eye opener to another step of challenge bestowed on the next young farmer achievers of 2024. Ms. Rhea Resol focal person for the YFC program gave her utmost appreciation to the people behind the success of the DA-AMAD Young Farmers Challenge program. She also emphasized , that the young generation of farmers has the power and energy to keep going and will exemplify a positive future in agriculture.
