Pagbalay 2025: Celebrating Unity and Progress in Concepcion, Iloilo

The Pagbalay 2025 with the theme “Pagbalay sang panimalay nga Concepcionanon; Agrikultura kag Negosyo Patubu-on sa tagsa ka paminsaron kag tagipusuon sang mga pamatan-on sini nga henerasyon” was held in Concepcion, Iloilo on February 20, 2025. This event truly exemplifies a good example for all farmers and fishermen, showcasing progress and unity among everyone.

The Department of Agriculture Western Visayas and various associations and cooperatives, signified thier readiness to work together and assist in overcoming the challenges ahead. Sangguniang Bayan Carlito Carera expressed his deep satisfaction in seeing a large turnout from the farmers and fisherfolk, acknowledging that their participation in Pagbalay 2025 reflects the growth and commitment of the town. He also emphasized the significance of institutionalizing the event, ensuring its lasting impact for future generations.

On behalf of Municipal Mayor Milliard S. Villanueva, Municipal Administrator Jimmy Sebastian Celestial expressed his gratiture to hardworking farmers who continue to provide food to the people of Concepcion. Celestial acknowledge the vital role of farmers and fisherfolk in ensuring food security and combating hunger in the town, recognizing them as the backbone of the community.

Renan Palomo, DA-WV regional Corn Program Coordinator extended his gratitude to the local government for their active role in promoting Pagbalay—a celebration of interconnectedness and mutual support. He said that the collective responsibility of the community in facing challenges and highlighted the importance of working together to foster sustainable progress. Pagbalay 2025 not only marked a milestone for Concepcion, but it also highlighted the power of collaboration and unity in addressing the challenges of the agricultural and business sectors. With the participation of both the youth and various stakeholders, the event served as a clear demonstration of Concepcion’s path toward a prosperous future.

Sangguniang Bayan member John Arcosa emphasized the crucial role they play in providing sustenance and ensuring food security for the community. Arcosa expressed his deep gratitude to the Department of Agriculture for its continuous support through numerous projects and activities that benefit the agricultural sector in the town. Arcosa’s words served as a reminder of the dedication and hard work of the farmers and fisherfolk, whose efforts are vital in sustaining the town’s growth. He assured everyone that the local government remains committed to supporting these sectors and continuing the partnerships that help drive progress in Concepcion.###
