Ilonggo FCAs to receive P50-M rice combine harvesters

Thirty units of rice combine harvesters were turned over by the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech) to qualified farmers associations and cooperatives (FCAs) of Iloilo during the Provincial Turnover and Agricultural Machinery Distribution on February 7 at Banate, Iloilo.
The agricultural machines turned over were under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) for Mechanization by the Department of Agriculture – PhilMech.
PhilMech Director for Operations Joel V. Dator said that the P50-million worth of farm machines were only initial distribution under the program as target for 2022.
With five years of implementation of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) for Mechanization, PhilMech hopes to increase rice production in the country through mechanization.
