DA WV joins Iloilo Business Expo ’23

“DA is facing a lot of challenges these days from high prices of commodities (sugar, onion, egg), to the swine raisers affected by African Swine Fever (ASF), as well those affected by Avian flu. We are taking steps to solve these challenges with continues engagement coming from our stakeholders. We are greatly thankful to PCCI for the support they gave to DA and all the Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (MSMEs) who showcased their agri-fishery products in this avenue. This partnership will surely boost our regional economy,” said Maria Teresa Solis , chief DA- Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD).

Moreover farmer exhibitors who joined in the expo proudly exhibits their fresh produce of farm commodities such as (fruits, upland vegetables, lowland organic vegetables, rootcrops and spices) value adding products from MSMEs such as banana chips, taro chips, fresh mushrooms , mushroom chips, pickled and kimchi mushroom, rice chips, squid sticks, tablea and native coffee among others were a standout to the mallgoers and dinagyang festival guests.

The exhibitors who joined the expo are the DA farmers from the municipality of Oton, Concepcion, Leon Bagsakan Center, Lorenzo Farm, Tubungan Vegetable Growers, Young Farmers Challenge Inc., Balay Tablea, FEBs Food Products, Glenna Health and Beauty Products, 3Rs Food Products, Anamay’s and other exhibitors from the province Iloilo (IEPI).

On the otherhand an initial sale of P100,103 as of January 19 , monitored by the DA-AMAD and PCCI is still expected to multiply until the last day of the expo on January 22.

Also the DA Western Visayas is giving out various Information, Education and Communication materials (IECs) and production guide for free at the ILOBEX booth fronting Robinsons Supermarket.### By Joan N. Capaciete/DA-RAFIS 6
