In the conducted inspection of the Regional Project Coordination Office 6 for CHICKS Area Coffee Processing and Marketing Enterprise’s Civil Works on August 8-9, 2024, the Camindangan Planters and Farm Workers Association (CAPFWA) bared the competence of their coffee products that has allowed them to boost their income as they gear up for the start of operations.

Nearing the completion of the PHP 7M coffee processing facility, the CAPFWA highlights the marketability of their locally produced coffee beans as they advance in their subproject implementation.

“Before, we would sell our dried coffee beans at PHP80/kilo. But eventually, we managed to grow the value of our products to PHP135/kilo banking on the aroma and quality of our coffee beans,” said CAPFWA Manager, Evelyn Raner.

The association is also in high hopes of a possible local export after their Philippine Coffee Expo on June 7-9, 2024 at the Ayala Makati where they were bale to establish initial discussions for potential partnerships from other coffee businesses such as Cafe Amadeo and PRDP-funded enterprises.

“It was a great chance for the enterprise to see the opportunities we could avail for our business in the market, how we would position it, and how we could further increase the value or our product,” Raner added.

As the establishment approaches its turnover after the anticipated completion of the processing facility, the enterprise foresees higher supply for buyers and increased income through the fully equipped coffee processing facility. ###
