Agri-Aqua Trade Fair highlights Aklan 69th Founding Anniversary

This year’s Agri-Aqua Trade Fair highlighted the weeklong celebration of the 69th founding anniversary of the province of Aklan wherein 34 exhibitors showcased their respective products at Brgy. Balabag, Malay, Aklan from April 10 to 14, 2025.

The trade show provides an opportunity for the local products, which include fresh vegetables, fruits, seafoods, processed agri products and fruit trees planting materials to find market match among institutional buyers in the well-known island of Boracay.

Provincial Agriculturist Engr. Alexys Apolonio said that the main purpose of the event is for local farmers to connect with buyers, most especially entrepreneurs from the prime tourist destinations in our country.

“This project will give farmers an opportunity to market their products directly to restaurants, hotels, and other businesses around, promoting the visibility and profitability of their products.”

Engr. Apolonio emphasized that the province has diverse agricultural produce to offer that can suffice the increasing demand in the tourism and hospitality industries.

He underlined the very important role of LGUs in supporting the local agriculture to build a resilient and sustainable provincial economy.

He further encouraged locals as well as tourists to buy the products displayed at the trade fair which one best to show support and further motivate our local farmers to produce more.

As Aklan evolved its agricultural economy, activities such as the Agri-Aqua Trade Fair are critical to empowering local people and maintaining the livelihoods of the farmers responsible for the provincial economy.

The conduct of the agricultural information caravan and technology forum at Brgy.
