Posted by: RAFIS DA6 | Posted at: April 4, 2025

Eight barangays from La Castellana and Moises Padilla in Negros Occidental were visited by the Department of Agriculture (DA) Western Visayas Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program to conduct their Action Planning and proper meeting protocols workshop last April 2 to 3, 2025.

Farmers Associations (FAs) members actively participated on various topics such as the process and relevance of making an action plan and the basics of conduct and writing the minutes of the meeting. The participants were also grouped and tasked to create an action plan which they presented for critiquing and discussions. The hands-on exercise shall serve as a guide for these farmers associations to carefully and efficiently implement the projects that will be provided to them by the agency.

This two-day activity is part of SAAD’s simultaneous Capability Building Training which aims to capacitate and strengthen the beneficiaries in preparation for the interventions that they may receive from the program.

The barangays visited by the SAAD-6 Program were barangays of Camandag, Sag-ang, Talaptap, and Cabacunan, La Castellana and Barangay 6, Quintin Remo, Guinpana-an, and Odiong of Moises Padilla.

The Department of Agriculture’s SAAD Program aims to improve local agricultural productivity and alleviate poverty by providing livelihood to underprivileged Filipino fisherfolk and farmers. The initiative is dedicated to enhancing economic circumstances of impoverished communities by offering possibilities in the field of agriculture and fisheries.###
