Members of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) gathered at Zuri Hotel, Iloilo to assess the implementation of the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) agricultural programs for Fiscal Year 2026 in Western Visayas. The meeting, facilitated by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Region 6, aimed to review existing policies and identify updates to improve the agricultural sector.

The event also served as the CSO Consultation for the Fiscal Year 2026 Plan and Budget Proposal, providing a platform for stakeholders to contribute insights and recommendations for future agricultural initiatives.

DA Western Visayas Regional Executive Director Dennis R. Arpia expressed optimism that the active participation of CSO members will help address gaps in production, yield, and program interventions.

“We must ensure that all program interventions are delivered on time, with quality, and at the least possible cost,” Arpia emphasized during the meeting.

He also encouraged CSO members to continuously improve their skills and remain vigilant in managing their respective associations and cooperatives to ensure the effective implementation of agricultural initiatives.

The collaborative effort between DA WV, NEDA Region 6, and CSOs reflects a shared commitment to enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability in Western Visayas. The feedback gathered during the meeting will be crucial in shaping future policy directions and improving service delivery to the farming community. ###
