DA Western Visayas grants 4 farmers’ associations interventions under KADIWA

Four farmers’ group beneficiaries received financial grants and other assistance from the Department of Agriculture (DA) Western Visayas during the Nationwide Job Fair organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) at SM City, Iloilo City, January 31.

Barriga Magdalo Farmers Irrigators Association, Bangga Dawis Pototan Iloilo Farmers Credit Cooperative, and Pavia Entrepreneurs Multi-Purpose Cooperative each received Php 500,000.00 KADIWA Financial Grant from the department. Meanwhile, the Local Government Unit of Tubungan, Iloilo formally received the a trucking vehicle to aid the logistics of their agricultural produce under the DA’s Food Mobilization Program.

The DA Western Visayas also held the KADIWA Agri Industrial Trade Fair at West Visayas State University-Main Campus in La Paz, Iloilo City, from January 27 to 31. The agri fair served as a venue for members of various farmers cooperatives and associations in Iloilo to market their fresh and processed farm and fishery produce during the University Week’s Celebration of Taga-West community. Among the KADIWA exhibitors are Tubungan Vegetable Producers Association, Hugpong Ilonggo Vegetable Farming Agriculture Cooperative, Leon Bagsakan Center, and Alimodian Agriculture Cooperative.

DA Western Visayas’ OIC Regional Technical Director for Operations Maria Teresa T. Solis commended DOLE for partnering with the agency to conduct KADIWA ng Pangulo.
