Western Visayas wins awards at the10th Nat’l Volunteers Day

Representatives from Western Visayas garnered four awards during the recently held 10th National Volunteers Day (NVD) in Cebu City. The Department of Agriculture – Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries (DA-PCAF) recognized the efforts and contributions of agriculture volunteers from across the country.
The DA Western Visayas’ Accounting Unit was awarded second place as the Outstanding Regional Accounting Office, receiving P10,000.00 in cash and a certificate.
Arnulfo Magcope, the Provincial Agriculture and Fishery Council (PAFC) Chairperson of Aklan, secured third place in the search for the Outstanding PAFC Chairperson. Meanwhile, Vicmae Laurdaus, the PAFC Coordinator for Aklan, was recognized as the Outstanding PAFC Coordinator nationwide.
The DA Western Visayas received commendation for providing logistical, financial, and human resource support during the 2024 Visayas Agriculture and Fishery Stakeholders Conference held in Iloilo City in August.
The volunteers’ day gathering in Cebu City on December 3, themed “Celebrating a Decade of Volunteer Recognition in the Agri-Fishery Sector,” highlighted the significant roles and contributions of Agriculture and Fishery Council (AFC) stakeholders in crafting policy recommendations to strengthen the farming and fishing industries.###
