A total of 4,044 small-holder rice farmers from Jamindan, Capiz, received P5,000.00 cash grant each from the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund Assistance-Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RCEF-RFFA) on Feb. 15 to 16.
Of the P233,185,000.00 allocation for the province, the Municipality of Jamindan obtained a P20.22 million budget intended to benefit rice farmers cultivating up to two hectares of rice lands and who are listed in the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).
The Department of Agriculture (DA) Western Visayas distributed the unconditional cash assistance and the Interventions Monitoring Cards to qualified farmers through the Development Bank of the Philippines.
โGamiton ko ang akon nakuha kay mapagarab ako. Ang kwarta ibakal ko pagkaon sang manug garab. Hanggud guid ang pasalamat ko sa DA sa pagbulig sa mga mangunguma,โ said Felizardo Punzalan, who is tilling 0.5 hectares rice area in Brgy. Pasol-o, Jamindan.
โAng RCEF gin bun-ag ina tungod sa Rice Tariffication Law. May tariff duties nga iga-collect sa mga rice importers nga ging himuan sang mga programa. Ang masobra nga makolekta, ibalik ini sa mangunguma in the form of financial assistance,โ said Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer for Capiz Carolina Cornelio.
